The Food Standards Agency (FSA) today set a deadline of March 2021 for CBD manufacturers to prove their products are safe for human consumption, in a move that is expected to kill off a huge chunk of the industry because of the cost of conducting the necessary tests.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has asked CBD businesses to get their products registered by 31 March 2021 or risk being pulled. After the deadline, only products which have submitted a valid novel food authorisation application will be allowed to remain on the market.
